today was a wonderful day with a great team! style, hair and makeup were all spot-on! there were lots of looks with hair/makeup changes. of course, it's difficult to take a bad photo with these two models (Cora Skinner and Chris Davis). another stylist stopped by and glanced at my monitor and said, "man, those look great!" i replied, "thank you, but if you take a bad photo of Cora, then you're a photographer not worth your salt." on top of that, she was a little ill today. there's no way to tell it from the photos.
this is a different light setup i've started using for these email advertisements. i'm using two 3' strip lights on the background (one on each side vertical for a nice even spread), a large 4'x6' soft-box as a fill on the right and rather high pointing down and a beauty dish at about 30° on the left as the key. all of which is Profoto.
there is little to no editing on these shots. i wanted to show off the hair and makeup since they did such an amazing job today!

June 20, 2014: I spent the last part of my day shooting outfits for a category titled "$200 and Less". I didn't have a lot of time, but I had a wonderful model and was working with a good stylist. She did a great job putting these outfits together within the confines of a budget and limited apparel, shoes and accessories. Hair and makeup were not part of the budget. We had ten outfits to shoot, and this was the last of the day.
The silver background is insulation. The key and fill are Profoto Magnum modifier and a medium softbox. There is obviously a substantial amount of post for these shots (color and mood). We originally shot everything on white, but I particularly liked this outfit and thought it would look nice with some atmospheric light and silver background. I think it turned out pretty good. Hope you like it!
take care
